The toll drunk drivers take on innocent victims is horrible. Almost everyone knows someone who's family has lost someone to a drunk driver.

What is a drunk driver?

A drunk driver is the operator of a vehicle who has consumed enough alcohol to inhibit him or her from driving in a safe manner.
A general reference to the criminal cases of drunk drivers are often called DUI, DWI, OUI, OWI, DUII, DWAI, or other acronyms.
They generally describe two types of cases: first, where the driver is sufficiently impaired by alcohol, drugs, or a combination of the two, that the driver cannot drive safely. Second, the act of driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The criminal action of driving a vehicle with a blood-alcohol level (BAL) over a specified limit. It is also referred to as driving while intoxicated (DWI), driving under the influence (DUI), operating under the influence (OUI). DWI, DUI, and OUI laws are aimed to prevent motorists from operating vehicles while they are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Drunk driving is defined as the act of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs to the degree that mental and motor skills are impaired.
